Y Gwir Barchedig

The Right Reverend

Andy John

Dw i wedi bod yn Esgob Bangor – sy’n rhan o’r Eglwys yng Nghymru (Anglicanaidd) ers 2009. Cyn imi gael fy ethol a’m sefydlu fel Esgob, roeddwn i wedi gwasanaethu yn esgobaeth Tyddewi trwy gydol fy ngweinidogaeth ordeiniedig.

Fy ffocws fel esgob wedi bod i ddarparu fframwaith i weinidogion a’r esgobaeth sy’n galluogi eglwysi i dyfu mewn gras a bod yn hunanhyderus yn eu tystiolaeth. Dw i’n argyhoeddiedig taw Crist yw gobaith y byd, sy’n parhau i danio ac ysbrydoli fy ngweinidogaeth gyfan. Rwy’n angerddol am efengylu ac yn cadeirio Rhwydwaith Dalaith yr Eglwys yng Nghymru sy’n cwmpasu materion arloesi, twf eglwysi ac efengylu.

Mae gen i bedwar o blant sydd wedi tyfu i fyny ac yn fy amser hamdden dw i wedi cael fy ngweld yn rhedeg a mynychu campfa leol, yn ogystal ag ysgrifennu a chwarae (yn wael y dyddiau hyn …..) gitâr corff bach Takamine dw i’n hoff iawn ohono.

I have been Bishop of Bangor  – which is part of the Church in Wales (Anglican) since 2009. Prior to my election and installation as Bishop I had served all of my ordained ministry in the diocese of St David’s.

My focus as bishop has been to provide the ministerial and diocesan framework which enables churches to grow in grace and to be self-confident in their witness. It is my conviction that Christ is the hope of the world, which continues to fuel and inspire my whole ministry. I am passionate about evangelism and chair the Church in Wales’ Provincial Network which encompasses pioneer, church growth and evangelism matters.

I have four grown up children and in my spare time I have been known to run and attend a local gym, as well as writing and playing (badly these days …..) a much loved Takamine small body guitar.
